Writing about photography

A vision on photography is personal. People recognise things in pictures. That arouses emotion. It’s hard to translate these emotions into words. Writing about pictures in public, and using words, is a risky undertaking. Yet I strive to do that unprejudiced, without hiding my proper emotions. I find it interesting to use words to make people look sharper, to examine the choices of the photographer, to wonder why a picture looks the way it looks.

At the same time, I try to discuss all aspects of photography, not only those that are
generally accepted in an artistic circle. ‘Common’ pictures also deserve attention, if
only because there are so many of them surrounding us.

I experience pictures not only as an element of photography, but also part of our lives.
